Pattern play

I had a friend in college who worked at Dayton's. She taught us about
pattern play; mixing clashing patterns. We went out one night dressed
in pattern play and were verbally abused by most people who saw us. The
idea of pattern play must have been hardwired into my genetic make-up
that year, because Rachel mastered it as soon as she started
dressing herself. She doesn't do it as often as she used to, maybe the
result of having to wear school uniforms. But, yesterday she surprised
me with this outfit.
